Through the eyes of Children

I have had a heavy heart after learning about the Zaatari Refugee camp. I often get inspiration and encouragement from the students I teach, their wisdom and simplicity always strikes me.

I wondered what their observations and feeling would be when they learnt about the terribly sad situation some children find themselves in.

I found an age appropriate clip to show my Kindness Club girls. http://www.abc.net.au/btn/story/s4023310.htm

I could see from the expression on their faces, they were moved by what they saw.

I was interested in two things. How they felt when they watched the clip and if they felt a connection to the story. Some comments: This makes me sad They are trying their best I feel sorry of them

It's so flat

Some connections: The dance is like a dance we do before our weddings The writing is like Lebanese writing, and I do Lebanese writing We go to school so do they We love our family too I can't connect, it's not like me because I haven't been like that ever

Is it possible that through the awareness, connection and compassion of children change can happen?
